💬 Comment RECIPE and I’ll DM you

INGREDIENTS
16 cups chicken broth
2 pork loin chops (bone-in)
1 tbsp whiskey
1/4 cup + 2 tbsp cornstarch (divided)
2 1/2 tbsp sesame oil
4 1/2 tbsp soy sauce
1 1/2 tsp white pepper
1 cup dried lily flowers (rehydrated)
7 dried shiitake mushrooms (rehydrated)
1/2 cup dried wood ear mushrooms (rehydrated)
1 green onion, chopped
1 can bamboo shoots, rinsed
4 egg whites
1 package tofu, sliced into strips
1/4 cup white vinegar

INSTRUCTIONS
Rehydrate shiitake mushrooms, wood ear mushrooms, and lily flowers in separate bowls of cold water for 2 to 3 hours. Once plump, rinse under cold water until the water runs clear, then drain.

In a large stock pot, bring chicken broth and pork bones to a boil over medium-high heat.

Slice pork into strips. Mix with whiskey, 2 tbsp cornstarch, and a small splash of water until smooth. Let marinade until the broth comes to a boil.

Add pork to boiling broth along with sesame oil, soy sauce, and white pepper. Cook for 5 minutes.

Slice shiitake mushrooms and give wood ear mushrooms a rough chop. Add lily flowers, shiitake mushrooms, wood ear mushrooms, bamboo shoots, and green onions. Cover and simmer 10 minutes.

Remove lid and make sure soup is boiling. Stir in a circular motion and slowly pour in egg whites while stirring to create ribbons.

Add tofu strips, cover, and simmer 5 more minutes.

Stir in vinegar and remove pork bones.

Mix remaining 1/4 cup cornstarch with water to form a slurry. Stir into soup to thicken. Simmer 2 to 3 minutes.

Serve hot over rice and garnish with green onions.

LUNAR NEW YEARS SERIRS Ep. 2: Homemade Pork Dumpli LUNAR NEW YEARS SERIRS Ep. 2: Homemade Pork Dumplings (aka potstickers) 🧧🥟Crispy bottoms, juicy filling, and honestly… better than takeout.

These are one of my favorite recipes to make during Lunar New Year because they symbolize wealth + good fortune.

💬 Comment RECIPE and I’ll send it to you ✨

INGREDIENTS:
1/2 lb ground pork
4 garlic cloves minced
1/2 inch ginger minced
1 egg
4 napa cabbage leaves thinly sliced (white stems removed)
1 green onion thinly sliced
1 1/2 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp sesame oil
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp white pepper
Dumpling wrappers (Shanghai style recommended)

INSTRUCTIONS:
In a large mixing bowl, combine ground pork, minced garlic, minced ginger, egg, sliced napa cabbage, green onion, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and white pepper. Mix until fully combined.

Lay parchment paper on the counter or set out a baking sheet. Prepare your dumpling wrappers, filling, and a small bowl of water for sealing. Keep unused wrappers covered so they do not dry out.

Place one dumpling wrapper on your work surface. Add about 1 teaspoon of filling to the center. Dip your finger in water and lightly wet the edges of the wrapper.

Fold the wrapper in half into a half moon shape. Create pleats along one side, pressing them into the other side, until fully sealed. Repeat with remaining wrappers and filling.

Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium heat. Add dumplings in a single layer, working in batches if needed. Cook for 3 to 4 minutes, or until the bottoms are golden brown.

Carefully add about 1/3 cup water to the skillet. Immediately cover with a lid and steam for 5 minutes, or until the filling is cooked through and the wrappers look slightly translucent.

Remove dumplings from the pan and serve warm with dipping sauce.
